Despite what you might have heard, bigger isn’t always better. While the trend on mods for a long time has been larger, more powerful, more batteries, more features, many of us have started to feel like we’re just out of pocket space, and tired of our pants sagging as we try to jam a mod with four 18650s in there. Eleaf recognizes all of this, and they cleared their drawing boards, went back to basics, and set about making the Goldilocks of mods: not too big, not too small, with exactly the right amount of wattage, features, and size. The result is the amazing Eleaf iStick Pico and the astonishingly beautiful Eleaf iStick Pico Resin.
The differences between the two are entirely cosmetic: the Pico comes in striking Black-and-Bronze and a Brushed Gunmetal that has to be seen to be believed, while the Pico Resin has a no-two-alike resin body, some beautiful examples of which you can see below. But inside, they carry the same design, the same great circuitry, the same array of features. Both have a very simple, sleek look, with recessed bottom-mounted adjustment buttons that keep the body clean, while preventing accidental settings changes.
The Pico might be small on size, but it’s large on ability: with its single 18650, the Pico can still reach 75 watts, plenty for all but the most power-hungry coils. At lower wattages, even the single battery is sufficient for all-day vaping. You can actually see the battery cover in the images: it extends above the deck of the mod, because the Pico is so small it’s actually shorter than an 18650! You’ve got to watch out, though, as that protruding battery cover does mean the Pico can’t take 24mm atomizers like the Smok TFV8 Big Baby Beast, though 22mm sub-ohm tanks like the Smok TFV8 Baby Beast, the Kanger ProTank 4, and most RDAs fit perfectly.
Modern technology means size doesn’t limit what you can do with a chipset: not only does the iStick Pico provide wattage mode, but it also has a powerful temperature control mode, with support for nickel (Ni), stainless steel (SS), and Titanium (Ti), plus three user-programmable TCR curves for more esoteric materials. If you want to make the most out of a really high-quality and complex e-liquid like Velare, temperature control is the way to do it!
The iStick Pico also has a Bypass mode to allow you the use of direct battery voltage, losing regulation while keeping safety features. Rounding off this great chipset is upgradeable firmware, and time-saving 1A charging through its integrated USB port.
If you really need four-battery capacity, or 200 watt power, the Pico isn’t a great choice for your main mod (though it makes a perfect pocketable piece for backup!), but if you’ve been looking for a mod that has all the incredible features you need, in a form factor - and price! - that won’t break your pockets, the Eleaf iStick Pico and iStick Pico Resin are just right, and proof that spectacular things sometimes come in small packages!
